Eligibility
Scooter: Each team must have one metal-bodied, manual-shifting scooter manufactured before 1985 to participate.
Teams: Consist of 2-4 members, each with valid driver’s licenses.
Scooters
The scooter (frame and engine case) that starts must be the same scooter that finishes the trial. Age of the scooter is based on year of manufacture for the engine or the frame, whichever is newer.
Servicing of the scooter is permitted; parts other than the frame and engine case can be replaced or repaired. Service on scooters can only be completed in the pit area or along the course route. Scooters must travel under their own power. Transport (including towing) off course or to the pit by another vehicle will result in disqualification from placement. Team members can travel to the scooter and provide service on the course. Each scooter should have a tracking device on board at all times. Details on the tracking device will be provided at tech inspection.
Riders
No one team member can ride longer than 3 hours continuously; one point will be assigned if exceeded.
Each team member must complete at least one lap, or one point will be added at the end of the event for each rider that has not ridden.
Team members should obey all traffic ordinances. If a team member receives a traffic citation during the event, the team is disqualified from placing in the final standings but can continue riding. Team members cannot be added or removed once the trial has started.
Course
Stay on course at all times unless the route is blocked by an emergency. In that case, detour and return to the original course as quickly as possible. Deviation from the course outside of an emergency will result in one point being assigned for each lap.
Each lap must be completed between 30 minutes (minimum) and 60 minutes (maximum). Each lap outside of the minimum and maximum time will result in one point being assigned.
The winner will have the least number of points and the most number of laps completed in the 12 hours. If at the end of the event two or more teams within an award classification have equal points and equal laps, the team with the oldest scooter will be the designated winner.
Pit Rules
Anyone servicing the scooter or directly assisting the team or with the scooter are considered riders and must follow those rules.
The pit area should be kept free and open. Blocking free flow of traffic in the pit will result in one point being assigned to the team.
Classes and Awards
Classes: Awards:

Safety
All riders must wear helmets; appropriate safety gear is encouraged.
Each scooter must have working headlights, taillights, and brake lights, as well as valid registration and a license plate.
Inspection
Pre-event inspection of all scooters will be conducted to ensure compliance with vintage requirements and safety standards.
Behavior
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including aggressive riding or intentional interference with other teams, will result in disqualification.
Emergencies
In case of an accident, the event will be paused until the situation is resolved. If you are involved in an accident, call first responders first, then contact trial officials as soon as feasible. A first aid station will be available within the pit area.
Documentation
Each team must submit a log (log sheet will be provided) of riders and lap times at the end of the event for verification; failure to do so will result in disqualification. Any disputes regarding lap counts or timing must be raised within 30 minutes of the event’s conclusion.
(While changes to the rules are not anticipated, if there are changes or clarification of the rules they will be delivered to each team at tech inspection before the reliability trial starts.)
